I am doing a project for my economics class over the high tech industry and I am wondering where Apple products go when they leave Foxconn. Are they shipped directly around the world to the individual countries, or are they taken to America and then shipped out across the world.

Usually they are shipped directly from China directly to customers or to retailers. It wouldn't make economic sense to ship something to California then turn around and ship it to, for example, Japan.

For customized machines, the poster above is correct. However, I believe Apple keeps a stock of "pre-built" machines in the US so they can be shipped out faster.
