I bought a younger member of my family an iPod Touch (5th Gen) and I can't believe how short the bluetooth range is. It was bought with the specific intention of being able to connect to the bluetooth system in a hired Fiat 500L but when it was used, it would disconnect if moved to the back seat.

It isn't the car system at fault as my Galaxy Note 3 would still operate if I walked out of the car and took many steps away.

Has anyone else found this to be a problem?

Try a hard reset (hold power button & home button down together until it restarts).

If that doesn't work, I'd take it to an Apple Store to replace it.
