dunno if you can shoe-horn a 2.5" into the Air? it has a 1.8" as standard. Let me know if anyone manages it?
Apart from it being 2.5", it's also SATA II, not PATA.
You'll likely have more luck with MacBook or MacBook Pro than with Air.
