Pause button won't appear in camera app during video recording

Hi,

First time poster, +20 year Apple customer. I bought an iPad A16 with iPadOS 18.5 natively installed for my daughter. I assumed the camera app would have a pause button that showed up during video recording, similar to my iPhone 16. It doesn't. Anyone know how to get the pause button to appear?

For context, she transfered her settings from her hold 9th gen iPad during setup. Apparently her old iPad was alson on iPadOS 18.5.

No mention of pause button in the iPad User Guide.
