Am coming to US for a month shortly - just got my 3GS and really want to use it. Using abroad costs a fortune $10 per Mb!! Could I pick up a PAYG AT&T sim to use while I am there for data and local calls - Thanks

I picked up a T-Mobile sim out there when I went.
Just because it's AT&T doesn't mean it will work in your phone straight off. You'll need to get the phone unlocked, which as you have a 3GS, doesn't look very likely.
