Pay as You Go SIM for iPhone 3G?

I'm sure this has been covered somewhere on here at some point but I'm not finding anything so far in searching that answers this for me.

I have an old and slow iPhone 3G I haven't been using since I've had a work phone. I now have the need to get a personal phone and want to dust off the old 3G iPhone I have, put a Pay as You Go AT&T or other SIM in it and start using it with voice and data until the iPhone 5 comes out, which I'll then buy on contract to replace this one.

I don't care what the phone number is or about texting since I've already jailbroken the 3G and have Google Voice fully integrated with it's native dialing and SMS apps.

Can I just go into a AT&T store and get a Pay as You Go SIM only with voice and data?

What is the cost for something like that?

I don't have an iPhone 3g so I can't confirm it works though.

Thanks. Not really clear what it'd cost me if I wanted just voice and data but it's a start.

Does or has anyone on here bought one of these sims and used it in their iPhone for voice and data without issue?

Yes, AT&T prepaid sims will work with any US GSM iphone.
The data is expensive on prepaid though.
