Hi, I was having a little play with Apple PAY with my Santander UK Debit Card.
I had changed the Region to USA and went to register the card. When i scanned the card it showed the terms and conditions to which i agreed, however it then showed an error that the card was unable to be authorised. I then received an SMS from Santander with the following:

We haven't been able to complete your Apple Pay registration on your iPhone for your card ending 1234. Please call us on 08000686698

The number doesn't seem to be in service yet, so it does show that the Banks are communicating with Apple and its being sent the information. It just seems like a matter of time before the cards are authorised.

No way to do this until you bank says it is OK to do so.
I agree, but it was more interesting to see that it does send an SMS when you attempt. Just shows the system is in place but just need to be authorised.
