I have recently sold something and the user paid via gift (which has been done many of times from and to me) but I have never had this message show before?

eCheck estimated completion date is April 19, 2016. Do not ship items until you receive payment. Cancel payment

Anybody ever seen this before...and up to 5 days to clear??

eCheck: That means payment is coming from their checking account. They also don't have a credit card on file with PayPal to guarantee the payment. Thus, PayPal is telling you to wait until the payment has cleared. This can take several business days. This is all normal.

(PayPal eventually forces most people to add a credit card to their account. At that point, transfers will seem immediate because PayPal can go to the CC if the checking account debit fails.)

Ah ok!
I must have only dealt with ones who have a credit card linked before then. Was so confused as I had never seen before
I appreciate the help!
