I found a G3 powerbook bronze keyboard for 40 bucks, it is lacking an OS but everything else is fine. it seems like this laptop is really cheap, should i buy it and resell it on ebay? can you still use the G3 for everyday interent?

If its the Lombard series of Notebooks then its worth it. You can install upto 10.3.9 on that computer OR put 10.4(Tiger) on it with software called XpostFacto 4.
