PB not detecting camera

Ok. This is wierd. My power book has stopped detecting my sony camera when I connect it via the USB port. Well, actually it looks like finder and iPhoto have becasue when I disconnect the camera the PB displays a warning saying that I must disconnect by ejecting the device from finder but I cant doo this because finder does not display it. I can see that the camera has been recognised in the system profiler however iPhoto does not see it.

Any ideas what's wrong? And more inportantly, any ideas how to fix it?

Fixed it. If anyone else has this problem I solved it by connecting the camera switching it on and then reseting my powerbook with the camera connected and still on. When the PB restarted iPhoto booted and the camera was there.
