I want to upgrade the HD and I am looking at a Western Digital 160g WD1600VERTL. It is a 2.5" EIDE drive. Will this fit in my PB?

Also, I am pretty good with computer upgrades and wanted to know how hard this would be to do myself. Is it a 5 banana job or a 2 banana job?

Thanks,
Phil

I've read through the ifixit guide and it makes it seem fairly easy....

I was looking for a bit of real experience and any tips that the incredibly simple guides don't give you.

Also, is the drive I'm looking at going to work? (just looking for confirmation)

Thanks,
Phil

I had no problems taking the Titanium PowerBook G4 my first time. Putting it back together was just as easy. You don't have to deal with tiny screws or prying open thin enclosures.

The drive will work as well.

The guide is incredibly simple because...well, it's incredibly simple to do. :)

I think there are 7 screws on the bottom, take the whole bottom off. It might catch a little but give it a little wiggle and it'll pop off.

Unscrew the 2 torx on the side of the HD (in the battery bay) and take it out.

The drive you picked is a good one.
