PB Titanium? What kind of usb port do i have?

is it the old usb port or new?
also what number?

iam asking because i hook up a ipod and it said something about the usb port.

You have USB 1.1 ports. USB 2.0 ports weren't added until the Aluminum models were released.

dam it 1.1

thanks for the reply.

so if i buy something that runs on 2.0, it wont work?

for example a web cam?
do i need to buy that says 1.1sub?

You have a USB 1 port, which means that it the maximum data transfer over this port is 1.5 MByte/s (12 Mbit/s). So depending on your iPod, it may no be suitable to use it via USB 1, as most iPods need/want USB 2. If the iPod is of an older generation (before 2006) you might use the FW400 port.

EDIT:

USB 2 devices can also be used with USB 1.1, but when the device needs USB 2's data transfer capability, you're lost with USB 1.

thanks to all.
now i get it.

is there a adapter usb 2.0 that i can buy that connects to the 1.0. to make it a 2.0?

Yeah, I have one of these, hasn't seen use in years. I'd offer to give it away, but it seems that's against MR rules.

Doesn't seem to be. If you were selling it or the OP asked to buy it, yes that would be against the rules. Offering him a free part doesn't seem unruly. See below. (Mods, feel free to correct me if I've misinterpreted)
