pb12 al vs. pb15 al

I set my pb12 al next to my pb15 al and well its a HUGE difference in brightness and color, and overall appearance. the 15 is much better 2 times better. I was wondering if this was a fact, or is my 12 inch defected.. if someone has compared the two... it would be great to know if mine is defected or if it is just a fact... thanks
