PB4 Fans failure (?)

I've been using PB4 for less than a half an hour when suddenly fans in my MacBook Pro mid-2012 had stopped. It was silent as the grave. I immediately searched for an app that monitors fan(s) speed and when I launched it, fans rose from the dead. Has anyone encounter this?
