PC DVD works but not MAC DVD?

I have a late 2008 MacBook Pro 2.8Ghz Core 2 Duo/Mavericks 10.9.2. I just went to install Rocksmith but the MAC DVD only spins a few times then ejects. However, the PC DVD spins up and mounts (but obviously won't install). Any ideas? Thanks

You could install Rocksmith without using the DVD - through Steam.

I don't have another Mac to test it out. I just bought Rocksmith 2014 from Amazon. Are you saying I can still download from Steam using the Key from the box I have?

That's what DeltaMac's link seems to say. Most discs that require Steam you can just download what's on the disc from Steam using the key that's in the box. This is what I would recommend trying.

You could also try cleaning the disc or seeing if there's any major scratches on it.
