Out of the box my scanner isn't working, software installs ok but just before the a scan begins it fails with an error message of

SCANNER COULD NOT ALLOCATE REQUIRED MEMORY. QUIT ANOTHER APPLICATION AND TRY AGAIN.

And as i have 1GB of RAM im sitting here scratching my head.

With Mac OS classic there is a simple option of increasing the memory a program uses. Windows manages this automatically but is there a way to "up" the memory that the software uses?

Using XP, AMD XP 2Ghz and a big hard drive so there not the issue.

Many thanks.
