I recently bought a 5GB first generation ipod and need to buy a firewire adapter for my PC (running win98).

Any suggestions? I want to make sure it charges the ipod too.
Don't know much about this...

thanks!

its not really an adapter you need, you just need a firewire pci card for your computer.

Look for a 6-pin Firewire card (like the one sold by Apple). It will also be able to charge your iPod. I have seen some cheap cards that are only 4-pin.

Don't spend over 25-30ish, no need to ;)

yes, IEEE 1394 is the technical name for firewire.
