This is terrible news, but it was bound to happen.

Some PC manufacturer copied the G5s design.
This is the ultimate rip-off

Let the cursing commence :p

Edit: The PC makers site is not available, got possibly /.-ed. I will attach one here for you to behold.

The Cheek!

I cannot believe the cheek of these people! Surely Apple Patented their design? Copyrighted or whatever. They simply cannot do this!

Well Afterall.. it's missing the most important thing... the Apple Logo.

Love my G5 :p

I am not sure if its really possible to patent the design. And its not a real one to one copy. From my perspective its not as nice as the G5.

hehehehe

Look at those dumb looking wheels, thats a dumb design... Someone give at little nudge and see it fly down the stairs.

Ps I think those are wheels in my opinion....

Yes it is.
And Apple sued companies in past for copying designs. For instance eMachines was sued for an iMac rip-off.
The first two towers are so obviously copied from Apple that Apple would easily win a lawsuit.

The third model is different. And personally, I think it looks awesome.

Those cases are sufficiently different from Mac cases to avoid confusing the buying public about their Apple origins or lack thereof. The major threat of lawsuits to these vendors will come from their customers when those things roll off their desks and crash onto the floor.

How can you patent a space heater design from the 50s? they all look just as good as apples which isnt saying much. 3rd one is slick. I still find it interesting how Mac zealots think only what apple does is correct and everyone else is crap even if its the same. They all look just as good or better in my view.

These threads always make me laugh. Anything Apple does good, anything done by another company, bad. I'm convinced Steve Jobs could get on stage at an Expo and poop on a plate and the zealots would eat it up, so to speak.

Oh yeah, one more thing. iPoop

Then again, the "pro" users would cry that they need a pro version, PowerPoop.

If you're gonna post the ever-so-popular "Mac zealots like everything Apple do and hate everything else" sentiment, please at least try to find an appropriate thread. This PC manufacturer just very very obviously ripped off the G5 design and to complain about it has zero to do with being an Apple zealot.

Wouldn't it be awesome to race them down a hill?:D

While it's obvious that they copied from Apple, Apple should learn from them and put more optical drives in their next Powermac.

imitation is the best form of flattery, who cares if the design got copied, it just means apple is once again ahead of the curve, which is a good thing

ditto.

Hot Wheels on a G5...Zooooom!!! New speed record.

Yes, there isn't even a 2nd door on the G5, and the QuickSilver's 2nd door is specifically designed to house an Iomega Zip Drive (waste) and cannot easily be converted to hold a 2nd half-height drive. The brace that holds the two drive boxes would have to be substantially modified. Rats!
APPLE, we want dual doors for real size drives! ...and racing wheels too.

Racing Cases - Mac vs. PC
I LOVE IT!
Dual now, the "new" Quadra next, eventually G5 V8 cluster under one hood. Zoooom!!!

Floppy chock for wheel safety!

Hey, you guys missed the safety factor designed into the 1st two boxes. What else would a PC manufacturer install a Floppy Disk Drive into the case except to hold s floppy disk suitable for using as a chock under the wheels to keep it from rolling! How dumb can we be - it's brilliant!

And, did anyone use Sherlock to translate what the website reporting on the 3 boxes said in French?

News towers Lian-Li Lira comments

Here new range of turn made by the célébre manufacturing
Lian-Li; it is frankly superb and I have like the impression that
Lian-Li tried to be more "insane-insane" that usually for these turns.
This new series of case will be with format ATX like with the future
format, the BTX (but not, it is not the last wb from DangerDen). It
acts of the range V2000 and V2100.

How about going directly to the Manufacturer?

I think our LEGS HAVE BEEN PULLED. The G5 immitation design is NOT real.
Here is the reality:
