Hello,

I have a text document I created on my mac using Microsoft Word.

I would like to give it to a person who only uses a pc.

What are some of the options for doing it, please ? (Not too sharp with this "stuff" anymore)

Is there a program he can use that is free that will allow him to easily read it ?

Is there a program he should purchase ?

Anything I can do on my end to make his reading of possible and easy ? (different Save As, e.g. ?)

Much thanks, as always.

Bob

There could be a lot of ways to do this. You say "text document", but is that literally what you mean? Text documents do not contain any fonts, styles, margins, etc. - just the text itself. They are pretty universal and will work almost anywhere; every Windows computer has a program called Notepad that can open them, for example. In word, just choose the plain text option when you save. This will destroy any formatting or special fonts you may have used though.

Rich Text is a format available in most word processing apps, but that might be more complicated. One obvious question is whether the person you're sending it to also has Microsoft Word (or Office). If so, then just save as a Word document and it should be exactly the same.

I've never used it, but the free Microsoft Word for the web might be an option if you want formatted text and they don't have Microsoft Word.
