Hi all,

BEST WAY TO TRANSFER DATA TO NEW MAC?

As a previous PC owner, I finally purchased a Macbook Air about 3 weeks ago and am very happy and know my way around the new system.

However, I am looking to transfer my information from my old laptop to my MBA. Migration Assistant isn't looking as great as I'd hoped...from what I can see it can take a very long time (particularly music and picture files), I don't really have that much other data on there, files will not take up too much.

Before buying my new MB I transferred my data to an external hard drive, is this in fact the easier, quicker option to transfer my data? I have already installed MS Office so will not have any problems accessing my old files. I decided I would transfer all data from hard drive except music (my folder is slightly messy on my old laptop, though I have consolidated and taken note of latest library location, so everything is in one place). After some research, followed these instructions: http://myfirstmac.com/index.php/mac...ry-from-pc-to-mac-and-keep-my-settings-intact

I have been putting this off for a while for fear something might go drastically wrong, particularly worried about my iTunes.

PLEASE any help/advise! Would be great to finally have all my files on my new Mac!

Thank you in advance!
