HI,
Just wondering if i can use my Imac G5 lcd as monitor for a pc? I want to learn 3Dmax and need to buy a pc,if i could utalise my Imac G5's display as display for a pc aswell would be a big help not only is it an excellent Lcd, but i could save $$.
Would appreciate any help.
Thanks heaps.

Unfortunately you cannot. There is no video in on the iMac and I believe that the LCD is hardwired to the motherboard inside the case so it isn't like you can open it up and run a cable out.

Some people might mention the firewire video in devices. However, everyone who has one will tell you that they are worthless for anything other than recording video or watching TV as they lag noticeably.

but not in a G4

The G4 imac however is not hard wired to the logic board? surely SOMEONE must know how to turn this plug into a DVI plug?

cicottrell, you already have your own thread for that. Stop hijacking other peoples. Many people on MR are willing to help you.
