Okay, so i have a first Gen iPod Nano, i got it (1GB) when i bought my macbook over the summer. It works great on my macbook, but when i install iTunes and plug it my PC tells me that my iPod cannot be read that i should reformat it to work..

It works great on my Macbook whats up with this problem?
any help?

In short, your iPod is formatted for Mac OS in HFS+ . Windows cannot see HFS+ volumes, hence you will need to setup this iPod in Windows in order for Windows to see it.

The nice thing is, Windows formatted iPods can still be seen and used in OS X.

sooo i SHOULD reformat it with my PC, and that way i would be able to update it from my PC and my Macbook?

Yes, but you'll need to do firmware updates from the PC if it's Windows formatted.
