i have an older powermac g4 with 450mhz dual processor and runs on OSX 10.4.4
the memory is PC100 SDRAM. and i only have 256mb and want/need more.
is there other memory compatible with the PC100 say like PC133?
or do i need to order only PC100 memory for it?

ok so the PC133 will work fine with it. is there a way to change it so i can use PC300 RAM instead? would that be better?

I don't think that RAM is backwards compatible to PC100.

The 100MHz limit is in the hardware, so adding faster RAM won't do anything.
