PC2-PC3 macbook ram compatibility

Hello all,

I'm trying to upgrade the RAM in my friend's macbook (mid-2007, 2.16GHz). It currently has 1GB of PC2-5300 ram.

There are many new unibody macbook owners on ebay selling their pc3-5300 2x1GB sticks for cheap. One has an hour left and is unbidded upon (can i say that?) at $6 with free shipping.

Could I put these PC3-5300 sticks into his macbook that currently has PC2-5300?

NO, PC2 and PC3 RAM are completely different and not compatible at all.

I think they have a different number of pins and are a different shape...
