MP 7,1 PCH Die temperature?

Hi all,

I wonder what's your PCH Die temperature, and what range should be normal? What is the temperature a function of?

I'm asking because I've seen my idle PCH Die temp rising from 30 celsius a couple weeks ago to 54 Celsius now. Both times the temperatures were measured at complete idle (CPU temp 38). I have also noticed that in a screen shot posted by @Snow Tiger , his PCH temp is <40 celsius.

What range is safe, and what can I do to lower the idle temp? I have a 28-core 7,1.
