Hi..
I really need some help!!!! Please!!
Yesterday i ordered the quad 2.5 Yhee! BUT, BUT????
Hey there is a pci-e slot ..... I have a wonderful RME HD audio card (hdsp9632) that uses pci. i read somewhere that pci-e and pci are compatible. but to be sure i wrote RME. They say that the card can't be fitted in a pci-e slot!!!!!!.........
 My question is. Is there a convertor or something that i can use?

PCEe (PCI Express) should never have been called anything that started with PCI.

At least with PCI-X slots, you can fit standard PCI cards in them.

But PCIe is a totally different bus architecture from PCI and PCI-X. A converter (if someone made one) would not be cost effective. You would be better off selling your old PCI card and buying a new PCIe one.

Thanks for your help Bear.
But i don't seem to be able to find ANY pci-e audio card at all!!!

That's cause there aint none!, and it's anybodies guess as to when they will, if at all, be available. So your only option is to buy something like a Magma cage, expensive!!, but they don't currently have an drivers for OS X!!

PCIexpress cards are starting to be announced with Mac support.

I suggest you check with the audio card manufacturer of your choice to find out what their plans are. Their websites may be updated with plans and/or announcements.
