I have an iphone 4, with the latest version of pdanet (licensed) and the latest x64 version on the windows PC (laptop)..

I had no issues with pdanet for the longest time, but now suddenly when i tether (USB mode), after several minutes the connection just tanks.

I've tried rebooting the laptop to no avail.

Has anyone ran into this and may know of a fix?

Thanks

Maybe your iPhone firmware is too damn old? :D I would try upgading to 4.2.1 or at least 3.1.3 (which you can do without SHSH).

Yeah i'm on 4.3.3

It worked for hours with no issue a few weeks ago.. now its hit and miss

I will try again today, one thing i didnt try was rebooting the iphone.

*Has anyone tried myWi app? How does it compare to PDAnet?

I never have any issues with MyWi dropping connection.
Havent tried PdaNet.

I'm beginning to think my issue is actually the iphone 4 itself..

It will hold the connection fine for maybe 20 minutes or more, then suddenly start to lag really bad then completely tank.

In the case of mywi 4.0, if i then toggle the wireless icon on the toggle list, suddenly the connection returns to normal.. this even without any wireless enabled on my laptop..

So this leads me to believe it to be an iphone issue.. thinking of wiping the phone and starting from scratch which i really hate to do.

I had recently updated to 4.3.3 jailbreak and did a restore, including restore using aptbackup from cydia.. perhaps starting over short term with nothing on the phone and seeing how it holds the connection and going from there.

True, I would try a restore also.

Well after much fooling around i think i've narrowed down the issue.. i'm now exclusively using mywi 4.0 too..

At first it appeared that hamachi logmein v2.x was causing an issue.. and only an issue if i hibernated the laptop..

So i decided to uninstall the program then hibernate..

upon returning to normal i couldnt get a ping / get on the internet, even though it had the blue bar on the iphone (which i have restored at this point)..

So much for thinking it was hamachi.. so now it seems each time if i shut down or log off of the laptop then reconnect, i'm fine.. but its hit or miss with hibernation for some reason, which is rather disappointing.. i'm still trying to find a work around or figure out why this is the case.

i'm on a dv7t dual core laptop dvt7-1000 series i believe.

I should also add that the mywi toggle in sbsettings doesnt seem to work.. i still have the blue bar.. i tried the toggle for tethering (shaped like usb plug), no joy there either.
