pdf bloating

Every file I convert to PDF bloats out way beyond the size of the original document. e.g. PPT increases by 33%, Word docs sometimes by a factor of 5! I'm running Snow Leopard...any clues please?

You can open in Preview

Select Save As

Use the Quartz Filter drop down and select "reduce file size"

This is probably due to the fact that you are embedding all of the fonts used in the source document.
