I'm working on a publication for an organization at my school. I made the publication in Pages '08. Our school has a print publication department who asked for a PDF file of the publication. I simply just went to File > Export... and exported it as a PDF and mailed it to the department. However, the person in charge said the colors were not separated and therefore could not be printed. The publication uses two main colors, a dark gray and a dark red. He said all of the text was reddish-black instead of being separated between the two.

I don't know much about printing or publications, so I didn't really understand what he meant. However, after googling a little I found some information. Is there any way to separate colors in a PDF file exported from Pages? Do I need to print it as a PostScript file?

Thanks
