pdf files are not open nor being downloaded

Hello. In the past when I clicked on any links to pdf files, the files were downloaded and opened. Suddenly, it does not work anymore. Instead, the Firefox browser turned blank with only the location of the pdf file listed. Anybody knows how to fix this problem? Thanks.

I am using Firefox 11. Don't remember if I updated it recently.
