Hello Guys, our brand new app - PDF HD has been approved by Apple.

PDF HD is a simple and elegant solution for one specific taks - reading PDF files, but does it perfectly. Not only has it a unique engine (which makes it super fast while rendering complex PDFs), but it also features highlights and search. In addition, you can e-mail your PDF files.

Readdle aims to make PDF HD a great and specific application, which can astonish with its' simplicity. Just transfer PDF files via iTunes USB and that's it. Forget about complex and frustrating settings. It is all about getting things done.

Looks great! It allows to turn pages like in a real book! Want to try it! But have a question, my PDF book is large enough, its size is approximately 85MB... So, how it works with large PDF files?

no Landscape 2 page side by side support?
i have quite a lot of ebooks which are in that format!

Nope, so far. Vote for this feature to be added in the future.
However, it's very fast engine inside, like having 340 pdf horses power ! ^^

Your suggestion have already been added to our list of features for the upcoming update.

Amazing app! The best so far, in my opinion.

I am so confused about which app to read my books in now, I'll end up with four copies of everything.

How is the page turning? Is it slow...also if you could test out zooming if it's laggy or not.

Thanks

Has potential...

I tried it out. Page turns are fast. It crashes often especially when loading large PDFs. Zoom doesn't work right. I wish it had dropbox built in. With some bug fixes and enhancements it could be a nice PDF reader.

I tried a 500-page PDF and it didn't crash. Zoom is unusual in that there are no lags but just before returning to normal size there's a tiny jump. I can't see this being a problem.

Like the app (and bought it) but would really like some sort of double-tap (three fingers maybe if two is not possible) zoom in and out in addition to the pinching.

Hm..that sounds strange. Could you please send us that PDF file and we'll to figure out what's wrong.

Our zoom system was a subject of great importance. When you zoom to a certain point, it remembers this position and keeps it while turning to the next page.

Is it possible to highlight text within PDF HD and see the highlighted passages in another application, like Preview?

Your zoom system was a wonderful surprise, don't change that aspect of it please.

How it compares to united reader? UR is the fastest pdf reader I have so far, page turn is instant no matter how big how complex the file is. Also does email and 2 pages in landscape.
But UR has one flaw, go backward is slower. Wonder if any one have both and post a quick review on speed? I just got too many readers install on my ipad :D
The best pdf readers are still good reader and united reader. Good to see more competition is coming so we get better and better stuff. :)

What about comparison to FastPDF? Its been hard to drive me away from this reader.

Here is a video comparing speed of GoodReader, File Viewer, and PDFReader Pro.

Btw lily69, FastPDF is just as fast forward and backward. UR reader is okay, but zoom level is limited and bit sluggish, although not as bad as GoodReader, and also no swipe to go back and forth.

There is a point at which faster page swiping does not mean faster browsing. Readdle's app highlights and retains the zoom level when reading, two more important features than speed.

I'm waiting for good OCR, that's what's really missing from my iPad.

Looks very cool. However, I'm still on the fence.

1. It doesn't seem to have any ability to organize the documents into folders as GoodReader does. (Please correct me if I'm wrong.) The ability to organize seems to be part of ReaddleDocs only.

2. Am I to presume that ReaddleDocs' PDF engine is different than the one used for PDF HD?

3. I want a PDF reader/organizer like GoodReader that has the ability to highlight like iAnnotate. That would be the perfect PDF reader for me and I would gladly pay even $10 for it!

4. Do the annotations persist once I upload the PDF back to my PC so that I will be able to see my highlights with Adobe Acrobat?

I don't need this because iBook 1.1 is coming soon with PDF reader feature :)
Why waster your money on this?

Will it be ok for large size PDF (+100mb) ?
Stanza crashes, cloudreaders can't even add the files.

My 200 mb file didn't crash half an hour ago when I was using it. I'm very pleased with this for reading books on PDF, and tired of trying alternatives, so I doubt I'll be changing again for a while.

Thanks for your feedback.

1. Right, PDF Hd doesn't have the ability to organize files into folders, because it was designed to do one specific task - read PDFs (fast engine+highlight+search). We wanted to simplify this app, so you just throw PDFs via USB and read them. If you want good file management system - go for ReaddleDocs.

2.Yes, there is a whole new engine for PDF HD, however it'll be integrated into ReaddleDocs later.

3. At the moment, our developers are working on annotation feature for ReaddleDocs, so we hope to release that soon.

4. Right now, the highlight is only visible in PDF HD /ReaddleDocs, but the upgradet version, where you'll be able to see highlighted text, is almost done.

Overall, you can expect many new useful features to be released soon (for ReaddleDocs and PDF HD).
