PDF issues/High Sierra

It suddenly began this week: even viewing a pdf is impossible. Anyone else notice this? And, if so, anyone have a fix other than resorting to another browser (i.e. Chrome)?

Just for this reason alone I had to downgrade to Sierra. I use Preview to displays PDF's but on High Sierra are not sharp and clear.

I finally figured it out. I went to the Safari menu and clicked on "Settings for this website." I was able to view and print once I chose Preview (not Adobe).

What about a regular PDF ebook... Without Safari?
