PDF Problems

After installing Ventura I'm having trouble creating PDFs from a scan using HP Easy Scan. When I try to save a document everything shows up except the text that I just scanned.

I'm not famliar with HP Easy Scan. I had to google it and I see that it's their scanning software. It's been two years since it was updated. I found some posts on HP forums where people have been having the same issue as you.

HP easy scan not working since upgraded to macOS 13 (Ventura)

Using HP easy scan on a Mac with OS 13 (this may have started with macOS 12. When I scan and it saves pdf's the pages are blank. If I save jpgs then you can see what you scanned. Does there need to be an update or is there now a safety precaution that I need to change. Very frustrating. Thanks...

I found another post on Apple's forums. Nowhere can I find a solution. Unfortunately I suspect HP will need to update their software, and since this has been going on for a few months now, they seem to be in no rush to do so. Have you tried using Image Capture? It's included with macOS and works fine here for me, although I use an Epson flatbed scanner.
