Does anybody know of a way or an app that I can convert / present a heavily imaged and laid out pdf book with the page flip type functionality.

Ive tried converting for ibooks with calibre and it screws the formatting up and just basically doesn't look how the pdf does at all. I've not tried GoodReader yet but I gather it hasn't got the page flip functionality at the moment but hoping to in the future.

I would love to be able to present the book to the client using page flip type functionality, I think it looks really impressive on the iPad.

Really appreciate any advice fellow ipad lovers can offer.

Thanks

check readdle doc.
I dont have it but saw here in one of the posts saying it has pageflip.

Thanks for the suggestion but doesn't seem to have page flip from the description and reviews, can anyone confirm before I buy or suggest another app that does, really need this functionality urgently...

FastPDF allows a swipe left/right to switch pages, but it doesn't have any kind of animation to imitate a real page flip.

Thanks the suggestion, the above mentioned apps also have that ability but I really want the page flip for demonstrating a book to a client

Try Stanza. An excellent free reader app for iphone which has just been updated to be a universal - and I believe will now also handle PDFs. Has a configurable page flip as well as lots of other nice features.

Thanks for the suggestion, doesn't look like stanza for iPad has it yet either

Please somebody say this functionality exists somewhere

Nope, it really does; just confirmed it - so you're in luck. :)

I could open a PDF in Stanza using hold - open with... and if you look in the Stanza settings you can change the page animation from slide to turn. (Settings - Controls - Page Turn Effect.). It's not as cool an animation as the iBooks one, but it'll do the trick, right?

That's fantastic, thanks for everybody help, I really appreciate it

Now if only it had a side by side two page view to imitate a book even more... lol

Heh, yes I'd like to see this in Stanza too. It's only just ported across from iPhone right now - give it time and they might just add that feature too... :)

Yeah, iBooks is getting PDF functionality, but not sure about your page flip idea. I do like the fact that iBooks is also now going to have a proper bookmark and the ability to change the background color from white to sepia.
