PDFs repeatedly opening in Preview

I've associated PDFs to open in Acrobat, but it keeps reverting back to Preview. This is now happening multiple times a day. And when I right click to Open With, Acrobat doesn't even appear in the suggested programs. I've also had this happen to jpegs, but not to extent it's happening to the PDFs.

My suggestion:
Download "RCDefaultAPP" from here (free):
http://www.rubicode.com/Software/RCDefaultApp/

It's a preference pane.
Install it and open it.
Click the "extensions" button (it may take a few seconds for this to load)
Scroll down and select "pdf" -- set it to Acrobat
Also set "PDF" to Acrobat
Close System prefs.
