I am running a 16" MBP and when using PDFs with Preview the program freezes and turns entirely red. Sometimes it stutters too. Happens more when I am using an external monitor but it also happens when I am just using the on-board screen.

Is this a known issue and can anyone point me to a solution to fix it?

Which version of MacOS?
v11.2.3 but the issue existed before the update and persists after the update. Some sessions it is worse and entire PDFs just turn red when I am scrolling through it. The simple act of scrolling up and a down on a PDF using an external monitor causes the machine to freeze -sometimes stutter- and it eventually comes out of it.

open System Preferences > Displays > Color, and click the Calibrate button. That opens Apple’s built-in Display Calibrator app, which provides an assistant-aided set of steps to calibrate your display — the specific steps may vary between displays. this should fix red tint or black rectangle issues when opening PDFs in Preview.

This problems till persist even after I calibrate and the issue is only with PDFs and Preview. I do not see the same issue with Adobe Acrobat -any other thoughts and solutions?

I love how so many people blame Apple for issues instead of pointing at Adobe and other ****** developers with spotty pasts.

Ironically, the problem does not happen in Adobe Acrobat and never has -the red screen ONLY in Preview which is an Apple app. Problems reporting this type of issue has persisted over the years but no one has provided any solutions despite updates to the OS.
