I just got an iMac with mountain lion OS, instead of snow leopard in my previous computer. When I open Peak it asks for an authorization. After entering my serial # and clicking "authorize", it is not accepted I'm guessing because Bias (now out of business) was combating pirating.
Any suggestions?
If not, any replacement for a low capability program that allows simple editing of audio files and recording of analog tapes and records.
Thanks.

Audacity (free) (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/) seems to be the standard recommendation.

Also Sound Studio (http://felttip.com/ss/index.html) from the App Store.
Fission from RogueAmoeba (http://www.rogueamoeba.com/); have a look at AudioHijack while you're there!

Personally I prefer Amadeus Lite ($24.99) or Pro ($59.99) from http://hairersoft.com/
Pro gives you multitrack recording. Both have nice, clean interface. Also, active forum to which the developer seems very attentive.

All support plug-ins for when you feel more adventurous.
Try demos maybe?
