As of today I started getting the following symptoms

  • Cannot install podcasts using standard podcasts app, download is always 'waiting'
  • In AppStore, already installed apps have the 'iCloud download button', not 'Open', can't install new apps, when you select 'get' download appears to begin, but nothing happens.
  • Cannot open Radio from Apple Music (all other tabs ok).
  • In settings cannot open iTunes & App Store, can open iCloud, but cannot scroll.

If I perform a hard reset (or even soft), all of the problems go away for about 45 mins, then exactly the same problems return. I have repeated this procedure three times, each time with the same result.

I have signed out and back into iCloud
I have performed a backup via iTunes (don't have any older iTunes backups) and restored from the backup, again Phone works fine for around 45 mins, then exact symptoms above re-occur.
No network issues, iPad and iMac all working fine on same wifi network. Same issues occur when connected to LTE network.

I'm guessing I'm going to have to do a complete reset, but without restoring from backup. Are there any other things I should try before that? It's a very odd situation, even more so in that the issues don't immediately re-occur but when they do, they are always precisely the same.

I understand restoring without backup means I lose iMessages and Health data, will I lose anything else? I'm using iCloud so music and pictures aren't an issue, contacts and calendar are covered also.

Not a huge loss not having iMessages on the phone, but not having the health data will be disappointing.
