I received an Apple Pencil a few days ago, paired it, and all was fine. About two days ago I got a battery warning but didn't bother charging the pencil because I wasn't using it.

Yesterday I went to use it and of course it was dead. I plugged it into the bottom of the iPad and let it charge for a few minutes. After unplugging it, the damned thing would not keep a connection. The Bluetooth symbol would just go grey.

I thought it was a pairing issue, so I told the iPad to forget the device. Now it won't pair at all.

I even did a software restore on the iPad to see if that was the issue.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I've left it plugged into the iPad as well as to a computer for quite a long time. I'll try with the wall charger and see if that makes a difference.

Ok. If that doesn't work, I'm afraid you may have a defective Pencil, and will need to contact Apple.
