hi guys, in case i missed it somewhere.....

1) how long to initially charge the pencil for out of the box?
2) do i need the wall plug, or can i do it via lightning connector into the usb of my pc?
3) how do i know when its fully charged, and when it needs a charge? i cant see any indicators anywhere.

1) Depends on where the battery is out of the box, it will vary.
2) Out of a PC should be fine.
3) There's a battery notification widget in the today view. It only shows up if you have bluetooth devices that support it (like the Pencil) connected which will let you know the battery level.

If you leave the widget showing, you can watch the pencil charge at roughly 3% per minute.
 
the best and easiest way is to check the charge status on your IPP. If you need to charge the Pencil, just take the cap off and stick it into the charging port on the IPP. Takes a few minutes to charge and you can check progress on the IPP. Pretty simple.
 
It actually charges really fast through the IPP port.
