Every once in a while. I've done reboots and such, still the cursor freezes sometimes.

I wonder if I take it to the Genius Bar if they will see it. It happens on rare instances.

Is it worth bringing it in?

If they replace parts, are they new or refurbished?

I got the Penryn 2.4 MBP as a replacement to my 2.2 SR (last year's model) MBP about three months ago because that thing needed a ton of repairs and was a lemon.

My thought on warranties - they're not limited to anything except how much time you're willing to be away from your computer. I like to (though in practice rarely do) take my computer in for any little annoyance because if you let them go unchecked, you start to live with it and thats no good; because you don't have to.

Fix it while its covered so you don't regret it when its not.

I'm going to get it fixed at some point (not now, its a small issue to be without a laptop for a few weeks while I'm in college. It happens infrequently, but it happens.)

Do you think getting a new trackpad would fix it? I don't understand how this could happen.

I would think it either works or it doesn't...
