Penryn Delay?

Does anyone know if the chips are still delayed? Sony and Dell both had a "shipping" date with the penryn chips set for today (2/18/2008) but have changed the date to 3/11/2008 (Sony) and 3/18/2008 (Dell)

Any thoughts?

I'm still hoping for an updated MBP on the 26th but realize I more than likely wont see it ... instead it'll prob. be a "Now Shipping!" for Time Machine...or the iTOASTER (Beat him to it)

Expect shortages around processor launch. Intel provides the information on their products months in advance.

I guess you weren't around for the Merom launch.

When I went to Dell's website it told me a ship date of February 26th.

Yeah how was the Merom launch? Anything like the Penryn update? How long did it take Apple to update MBPs/MB after they were released by Intel?

Well you whipper snappers might not know but back at the Merom launch laptops were delayed well into September 2006. Take note the launch was July 27th.
