Hi..about to get upgrade to 4 GBs of Ram....opinions please....OWC has Samsung for $149 like it cause I think Apple uses it as OEM...Crucial has same amount for $109. Any preferences here? Thanks

FWIW, when I was ordering RAM Crucial was out of stock, so I went with the OWC Samsung.

Both should be fine-- I've had no problems whatsoever with the Samsung I bought and my new MBP runs like a top!

Just installed 2x2gb Mushkin from NewEgg this morning and so far it has been running great. Only $70 after rebate.

For those who have upgraded Ram already...Curious...what was the brand of the Ram that shipped in the MBP Penryn? The ones you took out.

I don't know the manufacturer of the actual RAM chips, but the brand that is marketing it is Nanya... same goes for all the previous MBP I exchanged.

Personally don't care, since I swapped in 2x 2GB Crucial chips. :D

came with Nanya, & replaced with Adata from newegg, 78.99 for a 4GB kit, free shipping. works great.
