I'm interest to know what MP7,1 owners have bought for upgrading their RAM capacity.

  1. MP7,1 model: 8, 12, 16, 24, 28 core ?
  2. What RAM was the MP7,1 delivered with ? (4x8GB being the stock amount)
  3. Did you have any issues when upgrading the RAM ?
  4. What was the RAM DIMM type/brand purchased (DIMM sizes in GB and brand such as Micron, Crucial, NewEgg, OWC, Samsung, etc)?
    1. How many DIMMs were purchased and what sizes were they ?
    2. Did you add to delivered RAM
      1. What slots were used for the new DIMMs (if different DIMM sizes mention the slot # and the DIMM size) ?
    3. Added new RAM and removed delivered RAM
      1. What slots were used for the new DIMMs and state the DIMM sizes for the slots ?
    4. If possible a reference to the URL(s) used to purchase the DIMMs (state if multiple vendors were used) ?
Thanks.... :)

Take some lessons from the MP4,1/5,1 RAM threads. If you want this to be a helpful resource, make the first post a wiki. Organize by individual module capacity, then additional specs. It’s going to become a mess really soon.

I did that, but felt a straight forward request exclusive to the MP7,1 community might be useful to some of us. I don't see that it should result in a mess, as you're mentioned it could become. Yes, I'm sure people will be buying all sorts of RAM, but I think it important for each post to indicate success, failures and issues for their RAM upgrades.

That’s not what I’m saying. Make your first post of this thread a wiki. It’s not currently.

The MP4,1/5,1 thread was difficult to manage and follow for awhile. Wiki first post fixed a lot of that. Everyone can collectively help manage.
