I am a new Apple Watch owner and I love it but I am not really into activity’s and exercise too old for all that now, so been looking for ways to make my life easier on my favourite couch.

Found a few which are perfect for lazy people like me.

Harmony Watch - If you have an Harmony Hub this is the perfect companion be warned its £2.99 but it just works you can do nearly anything you can with the remote, really satisfying laying there changing channels, volume or activitys without searching for the remote.

Home App - I have Phillips Hue Bulbs all through the house and they are great and I have always used the Hue app to control them, but on the Apple Watch the Home app works brilliantly once you have set up your various scenes.

Music App - I used to use my iPhone or iPad to play music through my Homepods but now using the watch to start playing and the controlling the music is just perfect for me.

Answering Phone Calls - How wonderful is this just talking to your watch!

Any other apps I can use from the comfort of my couch to make life easier please feel free to let me know and please do not judge me you will be old and lazy one day!

That's very helpful. Thank you. I'm on my 9th day of Apple Watch ownership and also loving it. I'm particularly encouraged to hear that the Home App works brilliantly specifically with Philips Hue bulbs because I have the Hue app installed on my new watch and it works very ..... un-brilliantly! It worked for about 2 minutes after I first installed it and set it up, and then briefly started working again yesterday again for another minute or two, but apart from those two times it just says "Connecting..." for ages and eventually says it can't connect to the hub. Totally useless.

I also have a Harmony Hub so I will definitely go and buy and have a play with the Watch app for that a bit later.

It's a shame you can't define your own named workouts so that you could use more of the Watch functionality by defining a few new types of workouts such as "Watching TV", "Eating Pizza", etc. I think Apple might have to make some fundamental changes to the architecture for workout tracking to do that though because you might well want to do multiple different workouts simultaneously (e.g. Watching TV and Eating Pizza at the same time) which I don't think is currently supported and workouts such as "Eating Pizza" would need to be able to record kCals gained whereas at the moment I think the workouts system only supports kCals expended. Maybe you'll have to wait for WatchOS 8 😊.
