I have a Late 2012 13" Retina MBP with a broken screen. I already have a 2017 MBA and a 16" 2019 MBP, so I hardly need another laptop, and the cost to repair it would make my wallet scream in agony. However, I have had great success in using it as a desktop (ala Mac mini mode) by hooking it up to a small monitor.

Since I'd like to use it as a desktop and the damaged screen is always in the way, would it be possible to just remove the LCD assembly? Anybody try this, or run into any gotchas using it like this. For example, would removing the LCD cripple WiFi reception? I think most laptops have their wifi antennas in the display...
