I have the 2009 2.23 ghz 13.3" MBP & just ordered a 8 gig ram upgrade for it. Anything else you guys recommend to improve performance? I was tempted to purchase a 7200 rpm hard drive or ssd, but would rather hold off on that since I really don't need anymore hd space atm.

Thanks :D

Well, there are only ram and hd can be upgraded, you already got the ram, and you don't want to upgrade HD or SSD. I don't think there is anything else you can do. But I still feel upgrade or add a SSD would be a huge improvement in the responsiveness of the computer.

Personally, I would just sell the 2009 MBP (you can probably get $600 at least ) and buy a refurbished 2011 MBP (only $800+tax) for upgrading.

Thanks for the advice, but I don't want to spend more $$. Is there some UI tweaks for lion that would increase performance? Similar to windows where you can tweak the UI and get major speed improvements
