Performance,batterylife between 13TB & 13 base model

I was thinking about buying a 2016 13'' macbook pro.I already have a 980m gaming laptop as my main machine wichi weighs 10 pounds.So I decide to purchase another laptop with more portability.13'' macbook pro seems to be a good choice.It has the same weight as the macbook Air.But my biggest concern is:is there a huge difference in performance and battery life between the 13''base model and 13''with TB?Hearing that the touch bar version is not superior to the non TB version in terms of performance.But the price is 300 $ higher and the battery life is way shorter than the base model.
Anyone who could give me some feedback?
