Hey everyone,

having owned iOS devices for a long time I am cautious whenever updating from one version of iOS to another as it (one year ago I would have written always) almost always slows down the device.

Seeing as I cannot downgrade the Apple TV 4k, how is the performance of it compared to 11? Does anyone have some hard figures on it?

Thank you

It's excellent! iOS 12 is faster than iOS 11 on the iPhone so maybe tvOS...
Anyhow, that A11X chip is a damn fast beast that is highly capable for many more OS updates over the next 2 years :)
My ATV 4K simply wizzzzzzes though everything. it's a speedy demon!

Got to congratulate Apple - Atmos on ATV / iTunes AND Stereo recording on the new iPhone range camera. They are FINALLY taking audio seriously! Respect!

I seem to have a little bit of a jerky interface when scrolling around between apps.
Seems to happen with remote and phone remote. It’s not a big deal just doesn’t look as smooth as it could.

This was using a 64gb ATV4k

Yeah, scrolling when moving between icons in the main screen isn't exactly fluid. It's bizarre because swiping the recent apps instead is much smoother. Still I have never given a wrong command or missed one because of lag, like it happens with Android TV on my Bravia (but with a much slower CPU).

Maybe in iOS 11 it felt a bit smoother, though.

Hopefully it will get fixed in an update but yeah it’s still a million times better than my Samsung’s smart os
