I love the form factor of the MacBook but one thing holding me back is the reported performance issues people have with VMware. I run VMware fusion all the time on my MBA and it is a hog. I can't move forward with the MacBook expecting it to be similar. Would the only way to mitigate this be to go to an M7? Anyone with this configuration?

If you want to run vm s you need enough ram for both operating systems running your applications. 8gb minimum. 16gb would be much better. At best the mb is about as fast as mba. Better off going to mpp where you can get 16 gb memory and faster cpu.

I say tosh to you both. I have the 2015 Intel Core M 1.1GHz and can easily run Windows 10 in VMware fusion 8.5.2 without issue. Its configured to use 4GB RAM and runs perfectly well on my machine.

i use vmware in my m5 and it works really great. i use windows xp lite though. i know it's pirated but hey it's an abandon ware. i use it only to run my old stock inventory program though. no heavy apps.
